Delainey started working with Harm Reduction Sisters in 2021 as a peer navigator and outreach worker. She later transitioned to a syringe service provider and is now one of two case managers. For Delainey this work has been a spiritual journey. Delainey is a mother of five children and has lost two sons. She originally came to Duluth to find herself during her recovery path in 2018 and doors have been opening up ever since. Her relationship with the Big Lake has saved her. She continues to feed her and honor her and returns to the lake when she feels she's "slacking or lacking."
