The Harm Reduction Coalition defines harm reduction as "a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use." In addition to a set of practices, Harm reduction is a philosophy and "movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs."
You can learn more about the principles of harm reduction here and access more resources on Harm Reduction International's website. An addition, Women and Harm Reduction International Network is a global platform to expand harm reduction approaches for women.
