open position: deputy director

Hi Harm Reduction Sisters Family,

We’re currently starting the seemingly impossible process of building a succession plan for our leader, Sue Purchase. Don’t worry, everything is ok with Sue. As is always the case, life is full of transitions and change, and now is the time that Sue wants to start working to make sure that this change is done thoughtfully and sustainably. 

Anybody who knows Harm Reduction Sisters knows this position is extremely niche. It is equal parts advocate, outreach worker, community leader, and Executive Director. Thus, it is going to take a special person. Our current vision is to hire somebody for the Deputy Director Position to work closely with Sue for at least one year. This would be a year apprenticeship to prepare somebody to step into the Executive Director role.

This is a unique opportunity for somebody who is interested in leadership and driving the future of harm reduction nationally as everything is changing and under threat. We’re fully ready to support whoever steps into this role for the sake of Harm Reduction Sisters and everybody who the organization serves, far and near.
