I’m a community organizer and a Harm Reduction Sisters (HRS) super-fan. When living in Duluth from 2019-2024, I was involved in projects that focused on community safety and police reform. With a goal of dismantling the war on drugs and identifying racial disparities in law enforcement, I served as the Chair of the Duluth NAACP Criminal Justice Committee and founded the website leanduluth.org. During that time, I am most proud of our community’s forming of the Community Crisis Response team and a successful lawsuit against the Duluth Police Department following years of mistreatment. I moved to Minneapolis is 2024 to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine. I volunteer actively down here with Southside Harm Reduction and think that the direct service that is inherent in Harm Reduction is the best way to share resources, love and solidarity within our communities.
