Meet Our Team

Janelle Sam

 Aaniin,
My name is Janelle and I am an enrolled member of Bois Forte. My Ojibwe name is Miskwaanakwadookwe; which means Red Cloud Spirit Woman. I am very excited to join the HRS team as the Director of People & Culture. I feel this is a perfect job for me because it aligns closely with my education and experience. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Behavior and also, I am a certified HR Generalist.  My work experience for the last few years has been in the human service field. Some of those jobs were an ICWA Social Worker, MFIP Job Counselor, and a Property Manager at a large permanent supportive housing organization that is located downtown.
I will end with some fun facts about me. I enjoy baking, sewing, going to powwows and ceremonies, giving back to the community of which I come from, and attending events that pertain essentially to Social Justice.
